My name is Lesleigh. I have a husband and 4 kids. For the last couple of years, I’ve been the owner and chef at a little neighborhood restaurant called Highland Table in Northwest Louisiana.
Being a restauranteur was a dream come true for me and certainly was an adventure! That being said, it is NOT a great career choice for those wanting stability or family time! When the lease on our building came up my husband, John, and I decided we would let go of my restaurant.
Of course, being that the restaurant was our sole source of income the question of what to do next came up very quickly. Read More
I started exploring my options. My work experience includes not just restaurants and bars but customer service training, real estate title work, oil and gas abstracting, SAHM, financial counseling, shoot I’ve even been a telemarketer!! (Yes, I’m sorry! It was a long time ago!).
Simply put I am a jack of all trades with a thirst for knowledge. I’m not kidding when I say I know about a lot of things.
I found several jobs that seemed interesting and right up my alley. However, after years of barely seeing my children, none of the jobs really appealed to me. I knew I needed time to re-center and re-connect.
Honestly, I don’t remember what inspired me to look at blogging, one day the idea was just kinda “there”. As I’ve put Good Life Done Right together I’ve come to realize God has been preparing this for a while.
Seriously, like years.
He has been building in me the inspiration and motivation to share through writing while He has been clearing the way for me to be with our family.
I’m excited for the opportunity that Good Life Done Right presents to utilize so many of my work and life experiences.
I hope this journey is as much a blessing to you as I feel it will be for our family. We have been through our fair share of ups and downs, especially in owning and operating a restaurant (while pregnant with our third child, nonetheless… but more about that later). While our experiences may not be the same as yours I think we can all agree at the end of the day we are all here to focus on family, food, and fun.
I hope you’ll settle in and join my family and me on this adventure. Feel free to lurk around a bit, get familiar. Please comment or even shoot me a message if you have any questions! We try to comment back ASAP but those three kids I mentioned keep me pretty busy so forgive me if I’m slow to respond.
You can find me on Facebook and Instagram as well.
I’m really glad you’re here.
